Meet Liat Madinane.

At the young age of 22, Liat is currently working as an Operations Manager for an education-based non-profit organization. She is also the founder of Sika Creative Agency which is an agency that aims to help businesses with branding, communications, marketing and more.

Liat is passionate about business, empowerment and is an advocate for equal educational rights, access, and exposure for students that come from disadvantaged backgrounds like herself.

She takes us through her journey from growing up in contradicting worlds and how it all came together to lead her to be the young powerhouse she is

What are the 3 words you would use to describe yourself?

Visionary. Ambitious. Insane work ethic.

What is your biggest fear about the future?

Missing an opportunity because I was not prepared and not tapping into my full God-given potential.

What would be the title of your memoir and why?

Dare To Dream”, because most of the biggest highlights of my life I have in one way or the other dreamed them for myself. Either literally dreaming, seeing it on television, magazine or reading it on a book and seeing it for my life or even professing it with my mouth or my family and friends on my behalf have all happened for me. Not exactly but somehow I’ve found myself in those situations sometimes in small ways and sometimes better than I even dream them for myself.

What gets you out of bed every morning?

I have a legacy that is counting on me, I have a business to grow, office building to buy, I have staff that need me to employ and manage them. I have assets to acquire, property and businesses to invest in. My Bentley needs me to buy it and Europe needs me to tour it. I have a family to support, a husband to respect and children to raise and show that with Faith and hard work everything is possible. That amongst other things is why I get out of my comfortable bed in the morning.

What is your definition of success?

Knowing that everything that the Lord blessed me with before I was in my mother’s womb and what I entered into this work planted inside of me has been tapped into. Knowing that everything that my ancestors and my family ever desired of me I go after it. Knowing that everything I have ever dreamed of myself I have tried committed myself and defeated all the odds to achieve it. Success for me is to be content with myself first and where I have got myself to be, to be content with what is around me because I have had influence on what is around me one way or the other and finally success for me is to have peace and as my Pastor would say, “shalom” being at peace and not just ordinary peace but the peace that everything is the way it is supposed to be.

One fun fact about you?

I find so much joy in crying. I mean I love the beauty that comes with crying, I cry very easily and I don’t appreciate people that make other people cry or the pains that happen in this world that lead to people ever having to cry. The reason this is a fun fact is that people don’t know this about me although now they will but sometimes I really have like cry dates. I cry when I’m really happy, sad, overwhelmed and grateful. It’s undiscernible what the body goes through when one cries. So normally the best thing to do when I’m alone is to just be in my feelings and allow myself to feel which normally always ends up with a cry date.
